Bavaria 32
bavaria 32

Bavaria 32 is the ideal yacht for a small family or for not so experienced crew. Easy to maneuver, this sailing boat offers enough comfort in its spacious cockpit to enjoy both the speedy sailing and sipping a night cup in some cozy hidden bay. Thanks to its hull design, the Bavaria 32 offers almost as much room as bigger yachts. The two cabins each have double berths, which offer enough comfort and privacy for a whole family to rest after actively spent day. This boat fully justifies the saying that the beauty in sailing is not necessarily the destination but the journey along the way.

Preparations for takeover of the boat in the charter base (check-in)

So you decided to go sailing. Here are few useful advices of the things you should prepare before you go sailing: Travel bags should be soft so that they take as little space as possible in a limited storage area on the boat.

Clothing – take clothes for all weather conditions (because sometimes it may be chilly even in the middle of summer). Take some spare clothing, and of course, non-slippery boat shoes.

It’s good to know something about the place from which your sailing adventure starts (sights, restaurants, shops, gas stations…), as well as of the places you will visit on your way.

Ask your agent to give you the layout of the boat, equipment list, pictures (both of the outside and of the inside), electric installations scheme (it is good to know where the main fuse and the valves are), boat’s technical characteristics; at least the basic ones (hull length, beam, mast height, draught, anchor chain length, size and type of sails, type and power of engine(s), axle or s-drive…), boat’s Check List (which is actually the takeover list that you need to sign before taking the boat).

Thoroughly study the route to the base.

Boat operator license (“Dozvola za upravljanjem brodice“) is required in Croatia. If you do not have it, you can get one for 120 EUR from the Port Authority (“Lučka kapetanija”) after they check your knowledge (exams are conducted every Tuesday at the Šibenik Port Authority).

Every chartered boat is Casco insured including passengers’ insurance. If you want any additional insurance, please arrange it ahead.

The food you can get immediately before casting off. Local stores are well equipped. Carry with you only the food that is simple to cook (for example pasta, or similar).

It is also good to have some cash with you along with the credit cards.

Deposit – a credit card slip is usually taken at the base, where it will be authorized, but you can also leave the cash deposit.

Submit the Crew List to your agent as soon as possible. It can be corrected later on, but early submittance simplifies the registration procedure.

Don’t forget to take your personal documents (passports) with you.

Arriving to the Charter Base

If you arrived by your car, park it and find the office of the charter company you hired the boat from.

Here are some useful issues you should discuss with the charter company personnel before you take over the boat:
-Where you can safely park you car during the charter
-When is you boat going to be ready for sailing
-Which documents can be settled be right away
-What is the usual procedure for taking the boat over

In case you arrived earlier than agreed in the contract, we recommend you to go for a lunch or on a sightseeing tour before you take the boat at the agreed time.
